Community Guide to Skidmore Resources
Cultural Experiences
 Saratoga Reads! is a Skidmore-Saratoga collaboration that each year generates community-wide engagement through the shared reading of a single novel selected by a public vote. Area residents are encouraged not only to read the book but also to develop and participate in a range of educational programs related to the book's themes.

 The Arthur Zankel Music Center, to be completed in December 2009, will be a state-of-the-art music facility, located as a gateway building near the College's front entrance. The Zankel Center, with its 600-seat performance space, will become an important cultural resource for the region.

 SaratogaArtsFest is an annual citywide celebration of the arts encompassing music, dance, visual art, film, theatre, and literary art. The festival, organized by Skidmore and some 50 partner organizations, builds upon Saratoga's reputation as a premier arts destination and is designed to kick off the city's summer arts season.

 The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore is a major cultural resource for the region. Known for pushing beyond the boundaries of the traditional museum, the Tang annually presents a dozen exhibitions that feature nationally prominent contemporary artists and bring wide-ranging topics together in new and challenging ways. The Tang's popular Family Saturday art workshops offer children and families an opportunity to engage in hands-on art making.

 The Schick Art Gallery, located in the Saisselin Art Building, gives the community an opportunity to study contemporary and historical works of art. Theme exhibitions address a range of disciplines and are often accompanied by catalogues, gallery lectures, and discussions.
