What Families Need to Know
With all the activity happening between high school graduation and the first day of Skidmore, your son or daughter may be occupied with things other than the logistics of getting him or her to Skidmore. This page is meant to give families an overview of what to expect on the first day of Orientation; who to contact with questions; what forms are needed and when; etc.If you have questions that are not found on this page, please feel free to contact the Office of the First-Year Experience by email fye@skidmore.edu or by phone 518-580-8111.

| What to Expect on Arrival Day |
| Whether your son or daughter is coming for Pre-Orientation or New Student Orientation, staff will be on hand to help you get settled. As you arrive on campus, be on the lookout for Scribner Seminar Peer Mentors to point you to the correct residence hall. Once at the residence hall, you’ll be greeted by Residential Life Staff, Athletes, Eco-Reps, Peer Mentors, SGA members, and other volunteers who will help you find your room, unload your car, and answer any questions. Please be aware that there is a move-in procedure to help all students get equal time and resources to move in. Once you have unloaded your car, parked in long term parking, and gotten settled, be sure to visit the Information Walkway at Case Center and have lunch in the dining hall before programming begins. |
