- Provide students with an academically challenging program abroad based upon the study of theatre and English.
- Integrate students from a number of colleges while studying abroad.
- Provide strong pre-professional training by drawing upon the professional British theatre community for studio course faculty.
- Provide enrichment activities by offering theatre going, field trips, guest speakers and master classes.
The Shakespeare Programme, run in conjunction with the British American Drama Academy (BADA), gives students the unique opportunity to study Shakespeare, English literature, and theater in London and Stratford-Upon-Avon, where students will find a wealth of resources within the field of professional theater.
The program builds on its distinctive relationship with the prestigious Shakespeare Institute of the University of Birmingham as well as BADA’s established relationship with the finest artists of the British stage. This program, offered for the fall semester only, brings together students who are studying English and drama/theater studies, enabling those with literary training and those with practical skills to learn from each other while experiencing the full range of British theater firsthand.
